I had been looking for an older Blazer (1969 to 1975) for awhile when I found this one on e-Bay a couple of years ago. She was located down in the valley of South Texas, rust free, pretty straight and running. Thankfully, I got it for a good price and got it home to Houston, as it needed a lot more work done to it than what was described by the previous owner (don’t they all…).

I began by replacing the straight pipes with a nice magna-flow exhaust and then moved on to brakes, radiator, electric fan, gas tank and tackled some wiring issues. Engine and tranny were already in pretty good shape. I moved from Houston, TX. to Winchester, VA, last year and decided to bring the project with me and keep going, all the while with a finished product in mind.

I managed to find some good off-road mechanics in Berryville, VA. They took the time and effort to help me plan out where and how to take the project to the next level. We painted, added some custom rock sliders, put on the 17″ x 37″ wheels and tires, moved to all black chrome for the grill, mirrors, door handles, etc…. We continued with new projector beam headlights, LED turn signals and then inset the off-road lights inside the grill. We put on a Softopper and I’m back to driving it as often as possible.

The last phase is some interior clean-up and the addition of a digital dashboard that should really set her apart. A labor of love, for sure, but the comments and looks my wife and I get everywhere we go are well worth it. Don’t think I would have even considered tackling this project if I wasn’t aware of LMC Truck and knowing that y’all would have all the parts I needed to bring my dream back to life.
