1996 Ford Bronco-Mannuel C.
On October 1995 our home in Panama City, FL was hit by Hurricane Opal and was flooded. Both our cars were totaled.
Our fifteen year old daughter had her heart set on buying a Ford Bronco. Since many people had lost cars, the available inventory of cars in the area was limited, and buyers were competing for the limited stock. A local Ford dealer gathered available vehicles from surrounding areas and parked them on a big field. We rushed to inspect what was available and – lo and behold – there was a new 1996 Bronco in the lot. It the only Bronco and we knew that 1996 would be the last year that Bronco’s were to be made. It was even the right color for us, a Willow Green that matched the color of the boat we trailered. We wought it on the spot before someone else did.
For the next three years it was our family car, we trailered our boat, carried our Labrador, and drove our daughter and her friends around. In 1999 we moved to Jacksonville, FL, our daughter went off to college, we retired our boat and our dog passed away. We the transitioned to a four door sedan for our changed family needs. But the Bronco has remained our favorite car: We keep it well serviced and maintained, polished and garaged and only drive it once or twice a month to keep it in good shape. The LMC catalog is a big help.
People are always remarking about the condition of our Bronco, “It looks like it just came from the showroom” we are often told.
