1966 GMC K2500-Ben F.
I had been keeping an eye out for an SWB 1965 GMC when I came across a truck I hope to have for a good while. I found the truck on Craigslist and the price was perfect, assuming that it was a semi-solid truck and looked as good in the photos as it did in person. My wife and I went to look at it and I could not believe the shape it was in. While the paint was newer than 10 years old, everything else (except for the wheels) was in great shape and as it should have been.
Quickly after hauling it home, I began to figure out which direction I wanted to take it. One of the first things I did was order an LMC catalog online. I had bought parts from you guys in my high school days when I was wrenching on 67-72 GMCs. I am not quite sure at this point exactly what I want to do with it, but I do plan on giving it some “personality” and taking it back to a condition that will allow it to “age gracefully” for a while and be, in my opinion, better fitting of the overall truck.
I lost the mags for now, de-glossed the enamel pain and had the truck lettered. Until I get to the point that I need to tear it down, I plan on just picking away at it small projects on it so I can enjoy it as much as possible with my wife and kids in the Summer months.
