1975 Ford F250-Heather K.

I bought ‘Tiny’, my ‘75 F250 in 1986 when I was 16 yrs old. It was an old beat up truck, the 360 ran poorly (I pulled the intake and there were lumps of ‘coal’ due to the oil not being changed – ever). The transmission had no reverse, the 203 transfer case chain slipped, and the brake booster leaked terribly.
I grew up on a farm, so during the winter months we had a large heated shop to work on machinery for the next season. I was fortunate enough to have a spot for my pickup during the 86/7 winter. I bought a ‘71 460/c6 and had it rebuilt with flat tops, dual 600 holleys, and upgraded c6 components. I added a body lift and a 4″ suspension lift initially, and replaced the 35″s with 44″s on the same 15×10 rims.
I drove it for about 6 months in my Junior year in high school before tearing the body apart and painting it twilight blue metallic, changed the grill to NOS ‘79 Ford parts with a Stull grill. Next I had custom made 12″ lift leaf springs, 14 Chrome Rancho 5000 shocks, double chrome steering stabilizers, installed a Dana 60 in front, Dana 70 in the rear with 5.09/5.10 gears, modified a 75 dodge ram power steering gear, changed the wheels to new Bart 15×14’s, and a Grizzly triple/double roll bar with extended kickers, and 13 KC Daylighter lights on top, front, and in the rear of the truck.
Once I turned 18 I moved to Boise, and even though I had went thru a few great stereo systems in it I got bit by the bug and started competing in car audio events. In 1991 I overhauled everything with a $12k system with all Orion HCCA amps and speakers. Using 2 HCCA 2100 amplifiers pushing 8 12″ Orion DVC subs in a huge bed box (cab cut out and pushed in thru the bed), 2 Orion HCCA 250 amps (later changed to 2 2150sx amps when not competing) pushing 2 8″ mid bass in the doors and 4 6.5″ and 6 4.0″ midrange speakers, and a 225 HCCA running the 8 tweeters. Powering the system and truck are 5 deep cell oil batteries (high tech for 1991) – 4 for the stereo and 1 for the truck, and a Phoenix Gold 175 amp alternator (now high end alts are in factory cars…very rare and expensive in 1991). I won several 1000+ watt competitions hitting 143db.
In 1994 I got married and 4 months later I parked the truck in one of our farms sheds, as the female attention it drew was not healthy on my new marriage. 🙁 It remained parked and unmoved until 2009 when I divorced from my first wife. After moving several times I am finally working on the truck this week to bring her back to life. A new fuel system, ignition, and other parts are on the list and I am hoping to have it running by spring. I bought many parts from LMC Truck over the past few decades for Tiny, and know I will be buying many more in the future for it and my other pickups.
