1968 Chevy C20 – Rodger M.

I started driving this truck to school when I was fifteen years old in 1992. I am the second owner and have the original owners manual and license plates that came with it when it was new. I have made several changes over the years, the original 307 was smoking so in 1993 I rebuilt and installed a 350 which I drove for several years. With the idea of making it go faster, I changed the front suspension to 1/2 ton to lose weight and to gain disc brakes. I also replaced the rear end with a 12 bolt and a 4:10 gear, at the same time I installed a muncie 4 speed. After driving and wrenching on this truck for several years, the Iowa winters had taken its toll on the body. I started a frame off restoration about 10 years ago and just now completing it in 2016. The engine is now a 383 connected to a close ratio muncie with a 3:73 limited slip 12 bolt rear axle. I still drive it to school, but now it is to drop off my kids. They enjoy riding in it and ask to drive it every day. The family that purchased this truck new are still in touch and are pleased that their old truck is still on the road.
