1987 GMC Sierra – Kelly W.

In October of 1986 I purchased my 1987 with every option. I knew i was going to keep it forever so It was never winter driven as I had a beater car. The 87 was mostly used for vacation travel,in 1995 my son Jason was born. That became a problem as space inside the cab became uncomfortable with a chlid seat. So in 1995 the truck sat in the backyard until 2013. Thats when my wife Susan asked what I was going to do with it as the paint had faded and peeled badly , body mouldings faded or were falling off,broken grille and so on.I told her I will restore it so I checked around the local wreckers and found that the parts I found at the wreckers were in worse shape than my parts. So I discovered LMC much to my relief. Ordered my parts, My son Eric and i stripped the truck down to the primer,removed all the glass ,bumpers chrome ,mirrors etc. Sent the truck to Shaw GMC where I originally purchased it and had them paint as close as they could to original. We applied the needed parts from LMC and the pictures show the result. Thanks LMC.
