1953 Chevy-Nelson D.

This truck was bought new by my 92 year old WWII veteran father as an Ice Cream truck from Amerio brothers in Union city NJ. The truck has been in continuous service every summer for 63 years now. It was repainted in 1971 with enamel, and engine was rebuilt in 1985. Still running a 6 volt original voltage system. The only thing that is not original is the rear view mirrors (from the 70’s) due to the safety of the children. It has traveled the distance from earth to the moon in its 63 years of continuous use and has brought joy to millions of children and adults. It runs like a Swiss watch still. I run no ethanol in it and use a lead substitute plus a bit of marvel mystery oil in the gas.
