All my life I have been very fond of the Ford Bronco. It has always been my favorite Ford truck since my father purchased this 1978 Ford Bronco XLT Ranger when I was seven years old. After my father owned the vehicle for thirty-one years, he gave it to me as a restore project. It has a 351/400M engine with a C6 automatic transmission. As it sat, the Bronco was pretty much rust free due to being garage-kept and not driven for sixteen years prior to my father giving it to me. The restoration was done by Richard Shelly of Shelly’s Auto Service of Danielsville, PA and started with complete tear down of the Bronco to the frame. This was a complete ground up restoration with all original sheet metal, engine transmission and interior parts excluding the tailgate. Many of the parts were purchased through LMC Truck. This restoration started in September of 2014 and was completed in August of 2015. Fortunately we were able to finish the restore in August for my Father’s birthday so he could see his Bronco restored to its original beauty before his passing in September.
The Bronco is an attention getter at every car show event and cruise night that my family goes to. I always have people asking me how much I would sell it for. This Bronco has gone from a truck that my mother once drove to work daily, to a trophy winner.
