1987 Chevy K10 – Grayson G.
This truck was originally owned by my grandfather Larry Sapp. He bought it new in 87 loaded with options. He taught my mother how to drive in this truck. I’ve heard plenty of stories where they piled the family of 5 into and other stories about driving around the farm. The engine was running strong until 2008 when my grandfather started his battle with cancer. I vaguely remember him picking me up from 1st grade one day in the truck. It never moved until august 2015. He was starting to fade and had a dream that his truck would be restored as my first car. We immediately started working on it but realized that we couldnt handle it alone. We had multiple shops do work on it to make it look and drive like new. It has a new 383 putting out 420 HP and fully custom exhaust. New interior and minor body work done including new paint and glass. My grandfather had one ride in the truck with the new engine before he passed away this past January. The body shop was working hard to have everything ready for him, but there is never a good time for death. The restoration was completed in may and is nearly flawless. We had tons of parts ordered from LMC and they helped a lot with getting the major and minor details done. I’ll never forget his smile when i turned that new engine over for the first time.
