1988 Chevy C2500 – Daniel S.
I bought the truck in March of 2013 from a used car and truck dealer, and it ran fine for about a year. Then I started getting problems, like the water pump started leaking, and the alternator seized on the way home from work, and a couple of other things. After fixing these and some other small problems, the distributor went out. Well, easy enough, I replaced it, but it never ran right after that. I drove it for another year, and then it had to sit in the backyard because it wouldn’t pass emissions. Well, a year after it’s been parked, I’ve moved, and since then, discovered that someone put in a ’86 Corvette engine via the engine code. So I have since replace the Corvette aluminum heads with ’89 iron heads and it runs better then ever now. It’s been a bit of a long journey with having to pull the aluminum heads and basically rebuild the top end, but in the end, I think it’s worth it. Even if my dad doesn’t think so.
