1982 Chevy K10 – Hannah O.
Hannah’s story of how she acquired this 1982 Chevy K10 Diesel is like most truck stories in that what she was looking for is not what she bought. She started in search for a new truck by looking for a first generation Cummins.
But after weeks of searching on Craigslist, eBay and the other automotive sales sites, she finally came home with this 1982 Chevy K10 Diesel.
The truck’s name is Edward because Hannah felt that Scotty the Scottsdale sounded a bit too cheesy.
Hannah had her doubts about this truck based on the few pictures on the Craigslist ad. She still gave the truck a chance. Hannah and her uncle took the rollback down to a small town in South Carolina to get a better look.
There was the usual rust on the side, the gears needed syncing, the interior needed work and it needed to be rewired. As Hannah puts it, “just some minor stuff here and there, but overall a solid truck.” The truck did have low miles for a diesel which helped them make a decision and negotiate a decent price.
A few weeks later, Hannah’s father ordered her a catalog from LMC Truck and she began her quest for parts. She’s scavenged the junk yards a few times also. Now after two new batteries and a radiator later, her truck isn’t perfect, but he’s getting there.
“This restoration is gonna take a while, but it’ll come through and it’ll be well worth it!”
