1953 Chevy-Mark M.

hi, my wife and I had been searching for this type truck ,at car shows,and in classifieds for 6mos. One evening while she was at a grocery store she saw this truck,for sale in the trucks back window.she called me and I couldn’t get there,so she made an appointment for me to look her over.The next Sunday my father-in-law and I went to Bowie,MD, checked her out and made a deal. We traded my car and a couple thousand bucks,and I took her home.That was in 1998,she ran great until 2010,we had a very cold winter here,when I got her out of the barn in March 2010,the block was cracked,and the antifreeze was oozing out below the freeze plugs…bad…so I took the engine(216)out and tried to have a welder fix it,but he made it worse…sad..so it just happened that I had another truck same yr.but with a 230(1965)engine in it.It ran but not good,I had to open it up and found the lifters we bad.I put in a new(Crane) came &lifter set,and shes been running great (30,000 mi)I drive her everyday…really..I even use it to work jobs…shes stock,but with the 230,3 on the tree,same rear,wheels brakes….nice to get compliments from everyone we see.
