1983 Chevy Silverado – Jeremy J.

The c10 started off as my dad’s when he purchased it in February of 1996. This truck has been his 4th c10 and last c10. As the years went by my brothers and I learned to drive in this truck. As I got older and received my driver’s license I begged my dad for the truck, and he still would not let it go. I even offered to buy it and he declined. But several years after the transmission went out and he let it set up. So I soon realized he had lost interest in the truck, so I purchased a 350 turbo from a friend for the truck. So I installed the transmission and the truck sat for a few more months and one Saturday morning I went to my parents house to start the truck and move it around the yard to get it out of the spot it had been sitting in. Once I got it started and drove it to the front of the house my dad heard it and came out of the house and said “That old truck still runs and sounds the same!” And I replied “Yep it sure does, now can I have it” and he said “No I want to keep my truck.” So I drove the truck to the back of the house again. By the time I walked up to the front of the house, he was smiling and he said “You really like that old truck huh”, I said “yes I really want it!”. Shortly after he replied “I guess you can have it since you are keeping it alive.” So in May of 2012, I officially become the owner of the family truck…
