1970 Ford F250-Mike G.
As a young boy I remember my dad buying this 1970 Ford
F-250 Ranger truck around 1985 or 1986. Dad bought it to haul hay in for the horses and cows at the time. He bought it from the local GM dealer where he worked at the time and jokingly offered the owner $400 and surprisingly got it for a steal of a deal. In 1990 dad decided because of the floor and cabmount rust that it was time to replace the truck and scrap the 1970. I asked my dad if I could have the truck to restore. Immediately after the rear main engine seal packed it in on the 360. I opted it out for the current 390 then pulled the bed and cab and spent a summer sanding and grinding the frame with a drill and wire wheel and painting it. I cut out the rusted floors and cabmounts and welded in new ones myself with little knowledge of the true amount of work needed. The truck after all these years still isn’t completed but still runs and is my most cherished possession I will ever have. My dad is now almost 74 years old and the truck is still slowly coming together. With a little guy of my own now the truck is high on my priority list to complete over the next couple years. I really want my dad to be able to drive this truck again with his grandson and I and to really enjoy it. I recently bought another 1970 F250 Red in color to add to the collection of father and son trucks
