1993 GMC Sierra – Robert E.
I got this truck as a birthday present after I graduated from school. I’m real close to this truck because it helped me get through some depressing times in the past year and working on it seems to get my mind off things. For me though this truck is like rehab for a lot of people I know. I had a cousin named Jay who was a paraplegic and I always had him help me work on what he could and have him paint some pieces I would add on later. He was ill at the time but this cheered him up and he slowly became able to do more without problem. But sadly he died in September of 2016. For us though this was a replacement for our 1984 Monte Carlo SS build we had stolen from us almost a decade ago. It meant a lot to us. So I named this truck “Phantom Limb” in honor of his car and him. I named it that because it’s like a piece of me that’s not there anymore but it always feels like its still here.
