1982 Chevy C10 – James B.
My story started many years ago my father passed in 1996 I grew up in mobile, Al a port city in Alabama of the mobile bay my father migrated from a town in northern Alabama where things for tuff in 1937 when the cotton crops were worthless upon arriving in mobile the state docks was busy and there was work so the only challenge was to get to work you had to have a car because you had to cross bridges so , he was able to buy a broken down Chevy that need everything so he get it running Alabama had no vehicle inspection so if it running you ride but in the evening he always came need something so I held the flashlight, and need to know what tool was next need that’s how the story goes growing up. I was so glad when my dad let me ride with him and I loved that truck , so l made it a goal to get a Chevy truck and build it I finally came up with the money to buy a truck for a price the market allowed I found my truck on a farm in North Carolina had to tow it the wheels wouldn’t roll I had the brakes repaired there were no rear shoes the total brake system had to be replaced I always wanted dual exhaust so I had them installed but it was running bad so I didn’t have a lot of money to fix up it was my ride so I meet the carburetor specialist he rebuilt the Carburetor so I got a chance to move back home and was able to move my truck by taking a job in Birmingham, Alabama I had to live in an apartment so my truck was so ugly I had to rent a garage or couldn’t keep it there , then I found a place I could park in Tuscaloosa Alabama and then I moved to Dallas,Texas and left my truck set up for two years 2009 I moved my truck to mobile my truck setup two more years 2011 I moved to mobile finally me and my truck lived in the same house so I had some oil leakage so this guy pulled off the head it was a mess so I rebuilt the engine put on headers Holley carburetor T400 transmission custom driveshaft stock rear-ended that my story.
