1954 Chevy-David S.
This 1954 Chevrolet pickup model 3600 comes back to its hometown after many years. This is a picture of my 1954 Chevrolet pickup with 4-speed and me next to the truck. We found this truck by Mankato, Minnesota and bought it along with two tractors.
Hauled it home to Blo Pro in Austin area. It was painted storm window green. It had 70,000 miles on it. The 1954 is 1st Series with one-piece windshield and the 235 engine, which is a full oil pressure system. It sat here for about four years then went into the shop for parts, new bumpers, new interior, new fuel tank, broken starter, generator, radiator and much more. It was driven to the body shop and was painted Corvette yellow. Three months later I drove it home.
We took out it for a drive to supper. The pickup looked so good, people turned their heads to see it. Just before we got to supper, my wife, Karen, opened up the glove box and there was the original 1954 book and bill of sale. The truck had been bought new in 1954 at the Chevrolet garage in Hayfield, Minnesota, by the plumber of Blo Pro he paid $800 and traded in an old ford car plus $22 more for signal lights.
I have seen this pickup every day in town. 1954 was my last year of high school. The pickup is all original and still has the split run wheels with new whitewall tires. All parts came from LMC. The pickup now has 72,000 miles.
Thank you for the good service and parts.
