1990 Chevy C1500 – Zac C.
The truck was pulled apart and body work started but the owner lost interest. It sat in the very back corner of a barn for numerous years. I bought the truck in pieces and it was a complete project. I’ve had the truck for a year now and am in love with how it’s turned out so far.
I bought the truck April 9th, 2016 as a 16 year old and I have had it just over a year. I bought the truck from a family members farm about 30 minutes away. I know little about the trucks previous owner. From what I was told was the truck was used as a work truck and got a little beat up and began to get prepped for paint and that’s about as far as it got. As far as I know the last time it was previously registered was Louisiana in 2002. Since buying the truck last year I’ve tried to completely restore it. My dad and I did all the body work and paint prep with only very little help. I have had some of the interior redone and the frame was sanded and painted by us. Since buying the truck it has become a huge part of my life. I’ve spent a year working on it and getting it to where it is now. My favorite part about the truck is having a project car to work on that I love owning. My current favorite memory of the truck was the very first time I got behind the wheel and was able to drive it. I hope to keep the truck as long as I can drive it and enjoy it. What makes the truck so special to me is that I bought the truck as a mess. It was different colors, no bed on it, and in many pieces and being able to put it all together and do all the body work and paint it with my dad. I’m only 17 years old and being able to have the truck was only possible because of him.
