1963 Ford F250-Joseph H.
My Grandfather bought this truck new from the dealership and has since passed away. It was left to my father and he passed it on to me, so it has always been in the family from the beginning. It has always had the flatbed with cattle racks for it since it was used on the ranch for hauling hay, livestock, cedar fence posts and firewood. When it wasn’t being used, it just sat parked under a tree. I have a photo of both grandparents standing in front of it, but unfortunately the whole truck is not in the picture, just the cattle racks folded down. All of my cousins and myself have fond memories of what a workhorse this truck was- and still is. When I started using it for hauling produce, there was only about 70k miles on it in 1999. After finishing the restoration it has just turned 90k miles.
Everything was kept stock and original right down to the paint codes and upholstery. It was great to be able to work on this project with my own sons and daughter- whichever one treats me best will be the fourth generation to own it. Our family goal was to have it completed for the annual Easter car show in our area, which we were able to do. A lot of strangers admiring the truck commented what memories it brought back for them growing up on their own farms. I loved my Grandfather and this is a great tribute to him.
