1949 Ford F1 – Kyle Delaney
I am 19 and was given this truck from my father’s father figure three and a half years ago. This truck is the vehicle my father worked on as a kid in the 70s and he learned a lot on it. I’m proud to say that some of the stuff he was able to teach me he learned on the same vehicle, not a lot of people can say that. I have worked as hard as I could on it and now having a running and driving pickup that’s not 100% done cosmetically but is finished mechanically, which is what makes me most proud since I did all the work mostly myself and started with a truck that was taken apart 30 years ago. Along the way I bought which parts I needed to including a donor truck and a fully powder-coated chassis, rebuilt a flathead v8 for it, and completely rebuilt all mechanical components of the driveline. I made my tech school’s blog. Here’s the link with a detailed story, If you could give it a look I’d appreciate it, it’s a detailed story of my entire struggle with it and gets more in-depth with exactly what I did http://www.neit.edu/blog/index.php/2017/01/automotive-student-works-to-finish-what-his-father-started/
