1953 Ford F100 – Aaron Juarez

It started 2 1/2 years ago when I stopped by my old friend Andy’s house to visit. I haven’t seen him in almost 20 years. He was much older than me and I spent some time living with him on his 100 acre farm. He had 3 kids and he was always into building hot rods. He built 2 for the older boys but the youngest just wasn’t into it. We started talking and told him I would be interested in buying the truck and building it with my son who was 15 at the time. I thought it would be a good bonding experience for us. My son’s name is Beau and ever since he was 5 he has always enjoyed cars. We would go to the California Speedway and watch Dale Earnhardt race. I came home and told Beau about this truck and the minute I told him that was it. He started all the research on the truck and we bought it from my buddy. I think the coolest thing about the truck is when we were deciding on a paint job we were flipping through the colors and he was stuck on a midnight blue. We came across this color Mitsubishi blue. Beau told me how that color was one to tag because he thought it was interesting. I then told him a story about my friends’ first build. A 1932 Chevy coupe he painted “MITSUBISHI BLUE” I explained it would be nice if we went with that color so when I drive it back to my friend he will see it finished and we can tell him it was a tribute to him. Andy was like a father to me and I can’t wait to show him. We literally just finished the build. Just in time to allow Beau to take his date to the Senior Prom. Now we just have to take it back to Southern California to show him.
