1997 Dodge Ram – Gary W.
It was imported into the UK in 2005 from Oklahoma via the Air force and I acquired it in 2013. The first thing to be replaced was the exhaust system as the previous owner had bodged it together and had the sensors in wrong causing bad running. Then came a 2″ drop on the front and 4″ on the rear with new 1 ton leaf springs. New steering box, brakes and various other revive items, the gearbox has been fully rebuilt due to a small pin coming loose and stripping the teeth from every gear inside. Had a respray last year with disastrous results by a bad painter so had it redone by a professional in a VW colour (Kim Blue) along with a new drivers door and new rocker panels. As a big fan of the early Petty race cars, there was only one way to go, had the decals made and applied with some subtle changes to the sponsors (LMC is included). I have always wanted one of these as they were released just before my first trip across the pond to the USA, and knew I wanted to get one one day. Thanks to LMC it is easy to get parts to keep it on the road hopefully for many more years.
