1972 Ford F250 – Rob R.

We RESCUED EACH OTHER…

It was truly a long journey for the truck and myself. But loved every single inch of it ALL the WAY! I found her in remote foothills east of the amusement park Magic Mountain in California.  She was left there to die with other vehicles as the owner was a collector of many different types of cars/trucks/boats.  They were all sitting under oak trees, marking their slow decay into oblivion.   Driving the truck home was a long journey as we had to go to a liquor store and find a pallet we could wedge behind the seat, otherwise no way to see above the steering wheel.  Tires had nothing left on them and the rear axle seals were shot. So brake pads were shot as well.  No rear view mirror and the passenger side mirror was cracked, rendered useless. But I drove the 1-1/2 hours home and the process began.

Even though there were some issues to be corrected, the first owner was very meticulous with the truck as I am told. I have kept that tradition most definitely alive in honor of him. This F250 has the original paint and today, she is restored to all her glory. Thanks to Ron and Eddie from the neighborhood! They were truly the director and protectors of this restoration of love. Every time I get inside that cab, it’s always like the first time for me. I always go back in time in my mind as I drive down the road. She’s strong and true, she is FORD BLUE.
