1995 Chevy Silverado – A.T. Anders

I first spotted this 1995 Silverado for sale in 1999. I told my wife I was considering buying a new truck. She was used to me buying older vehicles, like ones that were ten years old and needed a little work and some TLC. By TLC, I mean, rebuilding the engine, transmission, interior, etc. After she saw this Silverado she was surprised how good it looked.

We took it for a test ride one Friday afternoon and were not disappointed with how it drove and how well the previous owner had taken such good care of it. A local one-man car dealer was selling it for the original owner so we told him I would think about it and get back to him in a couple days. The following Wednesday when I came home from work, the Silverado was sitting in front of the house. I walked in and asked my wife why the truck was here; if she went to get it so I could drive it again to make up my mind. She threw me the keys and said she went down to the lot and bought the truck, had it detailed, filled it up with gas and now I had to take her out to eat.

Over the last 18 years I tried to keep it in as good of shape as the day I first saw it in the car lot. With the help of LMC, I replaced the headlights, grille, LED front turn signals, LED third brake light, new dash, gear shift lever, and rear view mirror. I also added the high beam headlight relay kit, chrome air cleaner cover, new rear bumper and just recently had the truck painted in the original color. I also made the bed cover to keep items out of sight when on trips and installed a lock on the tailgate handle.

I told my wife when I got this truck it would be the last one I’m going to buy. At 70 years old and with the truck in the shape it’s in now, I don’t see why this truck shouldn’t last me until I kick the bucket.
