1997 Chevy Silverado K1500 – Bill M.
Four years ago I made the best purchase of my life time. I saw the truck of my dreams sitting in someones yard for sale. I pulled up to look at it and the only thing it needed was some attention. I went to test drive it and it ran solid. A few days later I went and purchased the truck. I was beyond excited to see what I could turn it into.
After two years of having the truck I never put anything into it. Until 2 years ago it all began. I purchased a set of 20×12 Moto Metal M0962s and had them installed. Made such a difference with the look and stance of the truck. Then I started thinking of color ideas so I could fix all of the body work. I self taught myself how to do bodywork and paint. I painted it a custom white with ivory pearl, and it turned out gorgeous. I then started on little things mirrors, bumpers redone, light bar, and more. Then it hit, oil pressure dropped at 330,000 miles in 2017 so my father-in-law and I decided to pull the motor and rebuild it.
While it was down being rebuilt I had my wife to redo my interior. After we got her back running like new I had more paint work done. As i was born into a painters family I had my father hand tape and paint stripes on the hood just in case something ever happened to him I’d have something to remember him by. This year (2018) it will be entered into several car shows to show the hard work I’ve accomplished with a limited budget and having two boys too care for to. There are still some more things that I plan to do too it, but until now i am satisfied with what it has become.
