1953 Ford F100 – Jeffery G.

My father inducted my brother and I into the old car hobby at a very young age, I had my first car 1955 Fairlane when I was 13 and my first truck 1952 F100 when I was 16. My younger Brother, Brian bought his first, this 1953 F100 when he was 13 for a whopping $150. He worked on it for a few years but bought his Monte SS and he was gone to the Dark Side (Chevy). I purchased it from him, finished some mechanical things, painted it orange with 75 spray bombs and drove it for a few years terrorizing the streets with its low 4:27 gears 3 speed on the column and screaming Mercury 312 Y block. I also sold it to my Uncle and there it sat on his farm for many years. 30 years later, older and wiser, I bought the 53 back and with my two daughters help started restoring it properly. After 4 years, three parts trucks, and lots of LMC parts, it is shinier, but deep down inside it still has the heart of the screaming Mercury 312. I hope to keep it in the family for a long time.
