1987 Chevy Scottsdale – Kurt J.

In 1987 my grandpa bought this truck brand new and bought it for a farm truck to haul wagons. Through the years on the farm it was put through hell and after he was done farming the truck sat behind the barn. When I was old enough to be able to get into vehicles I saw that as a chance to bring something of his back to life. He generously gave me the truck to build. My stepdad and I started building the truck in my garage. With nice Wisconsin rust we had to replace the rocker panels, cab corners, floor pans, fenders, and the bed of the truck. Once we got all that done we had someone do finishing body work on it and paint it. Well, that paint didn’t turn out how I wanted it and dents were left in the truck. So, I saved up my money working during school and the summer and took it to a more professional body and paint guy that painted it black and got all the dents out and got it looking very good. After the paint was right I made it just how I wanted it to be – adding the red accents on the truck and taking it up a couple inches and adding the big wheels and tires. The biggest thing is that my grandpa loves the truck how it turned out and loves that my stepdad and I built it and that it is still in the family, this is a vehicle that I for sure will not ever part with.
