1967 Chevy C10 – Sharon W.

This is my wife’s truck that we purchased at an auction 2 years ago. It had a 327 motor, turbo 350 with 4.56 gears.

When she drove it home she said I think it’s going to blow up. I took it for a drive & sure thing it was going to blow up with those gears in the rear end. We then put a 4l70e GM transmission in it with 3.08 gears & that made it highway ready. It was still very loud in the cab because the exhaust was coming out of the side of the box in front of the rear tires. So I redid the whole exhaust {21/2′} & made it come out behind the rear tires.

We then redid the interior, dakota digital dash, new carpet, new bucket seats instead of the bench seat. We also put on 20′ Ridler wheels. Then we rewired the whole truck. She didn’t like the carburetor so we put the fast fuel injection on it.

We thought we were done, but we were not happy with it still. A friend of mine who had an lsa motor & transmission from a 2011 CTSV said why don’t we put it in the truck, so over the winter months we installed the motor & 6 speed gm transmission with a one piece drive shaft, I got a set of headers for a CTSV & they fit like a glove & I replaced the exhaust again with a 3′ mandrel front to back.

Now it is very quiet in the cab. Our next goal is to take it on the Hot Rod Power Tour.
