1955 Ford F100 – Duncan A.

I have always been in love with the 1953-56 F-100. It all started when I built a plastic model of a 1953 F-100 when I was in elementary school. It was a dream truck ever since. When I made it to high school, I found a 1956 F-100 for sale. I begged and begged my parents to let me get it. I was unsuccessful. In hindsight, this was a blessing. The 56 was an automatic, and I really wanted a manual. Then, a couple years ago I was in conversation with a coworker, who told me he had a 55 V8 manual F-100 at his parent’s farm. I then took out a loan to buy it and get it running. With a couple mechanically inclined friends, we put in a Heidts Mustang ii if, disc brakes, a 302, drop spindles, American racing salt flat special wheels, long tube headers with dual exhaust and flipped the rear axle. It turns a lot of heads, with its aggressive stance and loud exhaust. I just can’t drive it without a big smile on my face. I have big plans for it in the future. It will be my getaway vehicle for my wedding.
