1967 Chevy C10 – Derek W.
It’s a 1967 c10 long box. I call it shiny side down as it’s a new truck with 50 year old paint and all upgraded brakes, suspension, wiring, the interior is all new with double cup holder, full stereo/Bluetooth compatible and all hidden to look old. I still run the original 283 sbc but totally rebuilt new and a NV3500 5speed. I mounted one of my old ice fishing rods in place of an antenna and used 2 Mepps lures as access panels pulls in the speaker box. The bed has been replaced with composite deck boards, raised 2 inches for lowering clearance and the tailgate has had the hinges relocated 2 inches higher so no step to the bed. Both rear fenders are widened 2 inches for bigger tires. I’ve also moved the spare tire to in the bed mounting, with custom lock down strap, due to mounting a new gas tank behind the rear axle. I made all new rear trail arms, track bar, shock relocating mounts, rear sway bar, and redesigned the rear suspension to have correct geometry when lowered. I added lowered springs all around, lowered front spindles with bigger disc brakes and replaced everything under the truck that was on it, brake and gas lines, all rubber bushings, window and door seals and all body mounts. I added a vintage air kit , full alarm with remote start, a 400 watt inverter with 4 usb charge ports, and power windows/locks. It has had a complete frame off restoration and reassembled all completed with only having the frame blasted by Forbes mobile blasting. I did all the fabrication, welding, sheet metal, body work, painting, mechanical, wiring, glass, and stereo work. I have about 2000 hours in this resto mod I’ve built and all the shiny parts are under it and have no shiny side up like most hot rods.
