1988 Chevy Cheyenne – Raymond J.
I bought this truck one year ago today in an emergency after i had surrendered a car back to a finance company. This was an impulse buy in order to have a vehicle to get back and forward to work. I had no history on the truck except that is was used as a county truck for most of its life. When i got the truck, the interior was hacked, wires hanging from the dash board, missing door handles on both the outside and the inside. the ignition was missing and had to be started with a screw driver. The door were missing their inner mechanisms, the engine was barely hanging on by a thin thread….etc. Since then with the help of LMC truck and a local junkyard, i have been able to restore the doors to properly function with ease, she received a brand new engine which was installed by my wife and i. I tore out the moldy and nasty yellowed colored carpet and installed a rubber floor mat that covered the entire floor of the truck. I’ve gone through the trucks electrical system and cleaned up the hack job the county had made and was able to restore my turn signals, running lights and the stereo. Restored the washer solvent pump and got the wipers to function properly. I have also added a hardened plastic bed liner from my local junkyard and a truck bed tool box that had been posted for sale through social media. She’s still a work in progress and with her being my daily driver, some of the work has been put on hold due to time constraints. I do plan in the near future on having her painted. since I have owned her I have given her the name of CASPER.
