1990 Chevy K1500 – Daniel B.
I bought this truck when I was 15 for 100 dollars. The previous owner had pulled the motor and Trans, and let it sit in the woods for about 7 years. It had mismatched tires, and the entire body was rotten. We brought It home on a trailer and proceeded to tear it down to the frame and start over. We stripped and painted the frame, and installed new brakes, brake lines, steering parts, shocks, and wheel bearings . Then a donor vehicle provided the motor and Trans, and after the cab received new floors, cab corners, rocker panels, doors, and glass, it was set back on the frame. I bought a new box, hood, and fenders, and all were painted bright red. (I would give the color’s name, but it’s a red that we mixed ourselves). A new hitch, bumpers, and tires, and it was almost ready for the road. I bought and installed headers, and flowmaster mufflers and true duals were added. New mirrors, headlights, and some other odds and ends were added. A speedliner spray-in bedliner, and undercoat were sprayed, and it was done. I can not thank my dad enough for his donated time and knowledge, and the countless words of encouragement. I’m proud to say that we completely built this truck ourselves, and every penny spent on it was my own. Now I’m 17 and finally driving it, and I have received more compliments on it than I can count. Thank you LMC Truck for having every part imaginable!
