1966 Chevy C10 Fleetside Shortbed- Larry H.
At the age of 23 in 1993 I found my dream truck at the Pomona Swap meet. The owner wanted 4500 for it but I only had 2700, he then asked if I wanted to coin flip for it , his price or mine. My buddy’s agreeded to float me the rest if needed. Well I won the flip and drove her home that night back to Vegas. I am the 2nd owner of this truck. When I purchased it I was all stock. For the first 5 years I just drove it around vegas stock. The next 2-3 years I just parked it and never drove it. Finally I convinced myself to start to build my dream truck with the help of some friends. The projected started well and we had it all torn apart until money became an issue and I could not afford the work being done so I had to stop. In 2014 I started the project back up. Original 283 engine was rebuilt, turbo 350 trans was added, complete frame sandblast and powder coated , 4 wheel disc brakes, fuel tank relocated to rear of bed, Vintage Air added, power steering, Custom paint, and wheels, new oak wood in bed, new interior, custom sound. In December of 2017 the truck was completed with the help of a friend from work Mr. Steve Bagshaw, the paint he applied in his backyard garage was awesome, his help putting it back together was the help I had needed for years. Today I drive the truck around town every few weeks. She’s not fast , but she’s pretty, and this was the truck I have wanted since I was 16 years old. The truck is special to me for 2 reasons , The truck was originally sold in Fresno Ca, to the man I bought it from, Fresno is my place of birth as well. Also, I purchased the truck on August 29, 1993, My daughter the only child I have was born on August 29, 1997.
