1979 Ford F250- Bryant P.

It all started at the beginning of my Junior year of High School. Summer had just ended and it was time to head back to class and start a new year. My mom and dad had been talking to a family friend at the Indiana State Fair and asked if they would be intrested in an old ford that they used around the farm to check cows and feed etc. They had came to me and asked me if I was intrested and I was extremely sceptacle at first but as I googled pictures of restored squarebody’s I immediately fell in love. My dad had one when he was in high school and I have always wanted to follow in his footsteps. I could not wait to run all of my ideas and plans across my grandpa and dad about what all we could do to really make it stand out and fit my personality. I ended up buying the truck in exchange for a 50 cc Suzuki four-wheeler that I had had since I was 5 years old and $200 cash and I was the proud owner of a 1979 Ford F-250 Ranger. We got the truck home and started tearing it apart, we took the flatbed off washed all of the mud out of the frame rails and gave it her first bath in 20 plus years. This thing just had to be perfect, I like to think of myself as a perfectionist and I wanted this to really turn peoples head when at a show. My grandpa and I spent countless hours, day and night taking the motor out, stripping it down to the block and sending it off to and old friend of his that would bore it out .40 over and send it back our way. We had all the parts ready for the rebuild kit and were ready to get the motor back and running. We had Hooker competition headers, hooker 4 in. Exhaust kit, mid to high rise cam shaft, new rods, pistons, etc that was waiting for us back at home and we dug right in to it. We got the Motor painted in ford blue and back in and running and now it was time for the exterior. The truck was off to Defouw Collison Center in Lafayette,IN for body work and paint. The bed was bought from Alabama and all other body parts besides a few were from LMC were mostly everything on the interior and motor was from. As the truck was done with body work and painted the tires and wheels were put on and it was time to hit the streets smiling. I was a kid in a candy store. The last years hard work had finally paid off and I realized that this was something my grandpa and I had done from day one. And there is absolutely nothing that will ever take that away from me. I want to thank everyone that has been apart of this project from the bottom of my heart. Everyone at LMC for answering question after question. Thank you all!It all started at the beginning of my Junior year of High School. Summer had just ended and it was time to head back to class and start a new year.
