1982 GMC K20 -Steve W.

I’ve always had a soft spot for these old square body GMC pick up trucks. My dad had one when I was young and you just don’t see them in decent shape these days. I wanted a 3/4 ton 6.2 diesel and 4WD, so it took me a little time to find one. But I was lucky enough to find a clean one from somewhere near California that was recently brought into BC. It needed a little work but the body and frame were in super condition. This truck must have worked inside a large factory or something since it came with about 8 sets of keys labeled “82GMC” and the low mileage of only 68,000 miles. It has working AC, and all the original factory exhaust and mufflers still on it! I added 2 leafs to all 4 corners to stiffen things up, painted the white 2 tone lower and gave it new injectors, glow plugs and Toyo M55 tires. I also had the 4/10 gears swapped out tor 3/73 gears with limited slip. I also added Warn locking hubs up front. The front grill was damaged so LMC supplied that along with new corner brake lights and carpet. There were a few more small interior items from LMC. I cut the old “GMC” logo off the old grill and epoxy’d it to the new LMC grill. I’m now very pleased with this simple company truck.
