1950 Ford F1 – Wayne A.
My F1 has been an ongoing project spanning more than 25 years. The truck was found on a farm in Ness City, Kansas by my brother-in-law and he sold it to me. I wanted the project to be a challenge to build and a fun driver when finished. My inspiration for the truck comes from over 60 years of reading hot rod and custom car magazines. Everything that has been done to the truck I did in my backyard with the help of 3 or 4 levels and quite a few shims. It has an ol’ school Volare front suspension. T-Bird rear end. And the engine is Ford 302 with C4 automatic.
The truck gets driven every weekend and I usually find something to improve, modify or repair every time I take her out. Just 3 years ago I decided to channel the body 2” which took most of the summer that year. The red wheels and the louvered hood and a few other mods were the ideas of my pal Dick Ryan. Special thanks to all the swap meets, junkyards and the parts counter at LMC. It also helps to have a wife with lots of patience.Thank you Brenda![lmc_story_gallery]
