1968 Mercury M250 – Kent G.

Almost 40 years ago, when I was only 21 years old, my 1968 Mercury M-250 4X4 truck with custom cab package was originally traded with a friend in exchange for a trashed 1969 Mustang body.

Abe, as I like to call him, saw many hunting and fishing trips through dense forest. With the 4X4 I was able to plow through snowdrifts and muskeg. After abusing it for “recreational purposes” for a couple of years, using him as a work horse hauling water and chasing cows, and after blowing up an engine or two, Abe was retired and put to pasture. I always had the intention of getting him running again but somehow just never found the time.

It wasn’t until 2 years ago when I found out just how rare a truck old Abe really was (only 166 with the Mercury truck conversion as per a Marti report) that I decided to begin a frame off restoration. I wanted to keep my truck as original as possible, including the 360 engine. With a lot of work (more than originally thought) and a bunch of parts from LMC you see Abe once more. Thanks to LMC for shipping the necessary parts to Canada and bringing my truck back to life.[lmc_story_gallery]
