1986 Chevy K5 – Russell S.
I bought this truck about 15 years ago. It had a 305 that was toast, so I pulled the engine out to swap it with a good one. Before I had time to finish the swap, my younger brother decided he wanted it more than I did, so I sold it to him in 2006.
He dropped in a 350 with a mild cam, which is backed up by a 700R4 and NP208 transfer case, and used it as his daily driver while attending KU. He also replaced the stock 3.08 axles with some 4.10s.
As time went by, I noticed he wasn’t driving it as much. I asked him to sell it back to me, and have since been using it as a daily driver.
I have replaced multiple parts on it using quality items from LMC, and have been impressed with the fit and finish on the parts. It’s a dependable workhorse and tons of fun to drive, and also great for pulling stuck vehicles out when it snows.[lmc_story_gallery]
