1986 Ford F250 – Don W.

Ol Henry

I’ve been searching for an older truck for over a year. I wanted a 3/4 or 1 ton heavy duty pickup that was a 1987 or old, no computer. Last October, I found this truck that somewhat leaped out at me. Mostly because of the mileage but, also it has the big block engine (460) C6 transmission and a 3.55:1 rear gear. I was skeptical of the mileage and after extensive research on the VIN, I was able to confirm that this 33 year old Ford F-250 has only 106,992 miles on it. The truck is quite clean and straight.

I have about $5,100 invested so far. I was offered $9,000 for and turned it down. The rear tank is missing however, I intend to do plenty of business with LMC in the near future. A 38 gallon rear tank will be installed and the dual system removed. The truck needs all the window channel felts and guides. A new vinyl floor mat is needed and will be ordering new market/turn lenses both replacements and spares. I literally have a grocery list of items that I’ll be ordering from LMC Trucks.

I’m a 60 year old retired Deputy Sheriff and I believe I’m going through a second round of automotive “youthful” fun with this truck. I watch Motor Trend Network and LMC Truck is a popular and reliable source for rebuilding the old trucks that are still able to perform their duties as they did when they were manufactured. I feel very comfortable and confident that this restoration will be successful and complete thanks to LMC Truck. Keep up the restorations and drive safe.[lmc_story_gallery]
