1993 Chevy Indy 500 – David C.
I have always owned Chevrolets since I was a teenager. The first truck I bought was a 1974 Chevy tan and brown that I pulled my open car trailer with our drag cars to the drag strip. Later I bought a 1986 El Camino which we used as an extra vehicle, which I still have and am restoring. I later purchased a 1993 red Crew Cab Dually to pull our enclosed 26-foot trailer with our Super Comp Roadster to the drag races and later our 1980 Pro Street red Corvette to the car shows.
I have rebuilt the engine in our 1993 Crew Cab Dually and now I’m in the process of restoring the body. Therefore, I needed another truck to use to get parts from LMC while my Crew Cab Dually is getting a new face lift.
I found this 1993 Brickyard 500 Indianapolis truck online in Plattsmouth, Nebraska, which also is where our son, Tony Cruse, lives. I called him and told him about the truck. He happens to know the dealership and the owner of the dealership that had the truck. He went over to the dealership to look at the truck for us.
He knows how picky his dad is, so he looked everything over carefully and listened to the engine. He called me back saying, “Dad, this is a really clean, nice truck”, so after having our son negotiate with the dealership with guidance from myself back and forth, texting and phone calls, we made a deal to purchase the truck.
My wife and I made a trip to Plattsmouth, Nebraska, soon after that to pick up our new truck. I use my trucks for lots of projects around the house as well. Once you have a truck it’s hard to not have one. A truck is a must as far as I’m concerned. Of course, a Chevrolet truck, because it’s easier to get parts and accessories to update than any other truck, especially when you can get everything you need for it at LMC Truck.[lmc_story_gallery]
