1949 Ford F1 – John D.

From the late 80’s, I’ve always had a Ford pickup. I started looking for an old truck about three years ago for a project and the make didn’t matter. I always liked the ‘52 Ford with the big teeth grille but a few deals unfortunately fell through. The ‘49 was listed on a Toronto web site so in April/19 we went to see it and immediately liked it. Learning from waiting on past deals, I made an accepted offer on the spot. The truck is a “mutt” as the body may be Ford but the engine and chassis is a Chevy. A 305 V8 pushes it along nicely. Quite a different ride from my ‘16 F150.
