1962 Chevy C10 – Brady R.

Built On a Budget

My daily driver. These trucks have always been my passion since I got my first truck, a 1960 Apache when I was 13. I am still working on a full restoration on that truck 7 years later.

I finally found my 1962 LWB my senior year of high school and got it running and driving in time to drive it to school before I graduated. That was a lifelong dream that I was luckily able to accomplish. Since then, I have slowly updated almost every part of the truck.

It now has a 283/350th power plant. I have also upgraded the front suspension from the torsion bar suspension to coil spring and disc brakes. It has 2 1/2” drop spindles and 1” drop springs in the front, and 4” drop springs in the rear, along with power brakes, power steering, and the factory automatic.

I also did a lot of upgrades on the interior. It has all aftermarket gauges, new carpet, and later model bench seat with flip-down console. I also custom made a center console to house my radio, speakers, and cup holders all in one. The rear of the truck has been shaved and has hidden barrel latches in the tailgate. The gas tank has been relocated underneath the bed.

This truck is a joy to drive and I do just that! I have daily driven this since I got it running and it sure is fun! My message to anyone starting out, young or old, is just work hard at your goal and you will achieve it. There’s been a lot of ups and down throughout this build but its all in the journey, the memories, and friends made throughout.[lmc_story_gallery]
