1973 Chevy K10 – Andre K.

I am a 59 year-old animal scientist and part time cattle/corn farmer in Heidelberg, South Africa.

Since I can remember my dad drove only GM products…all sedans, never trucks.

I saw this K10 in a scrapyard in Johannesburg and luckily (with a bribe) saved it from being converted into a China ding dong!! I paid the yard R15000, i.e. $950 for it but it needs a lot of TLC and support from LMC Truck.

The list is long to restore it to its original glory and Chevy withdrew from SA last year. The 6 cyl, 4.1 motor had no 2 conrod sticking out the side. I luckily had an old Constantia engine to replace. The propshaft was bent….had a new one remade. It’s a fantastic truck but lots of work ahead. Its a “short bin” I hear.

It’s good you have all the parts at LMC but need to get them over the water. Previous owner butchered the load bin and replaced lights with cheap spare shop trailer lights. I managed to trace the previous owner and got all the paperwork as well. This truck is as strong as a beast but runs out of breath at 110km/h.[lmc_story_gallery]
