1983 Chevy K10 – Jason K.

A Boy and His K10

For my sons 15th birthday, I bought him this ’82 Chevy K10 short bed pickup. It was kinda solid, needed a lot of work, and the motor was about worn out. The truck had been through a lot in its life, but it was a solid starting point.

My son and I disassembled the entire truck. We took the body off and pulled the drivetrain. With a bunch of parts from LMC, we got to work.

Every single piece of this truck was apart and reassembled by my son’s hands. I taught him how to do things and guided him through the assembly of a brand new 4-bolt 355 with 10.5-1 compression, Dart heads, roller cam, and 3” exhaust. We dynoed the motor, and it made 380hp and 400lb/ft torque. We finished the reassembly and bodywork, and sent the truck out to our friends at KR Auto Solutions in Speonk, NY for the GM Son of a Gun Grey Metallic and it came out great.

Building this truck over the last two years was the best time of my life. What a blast and memories that will last a lifetime. Thanks, LMC![lmc_story_gallery]
