1985 Chevy C10 – Roger L.
My papaw bought the truck used and my dad built a good 350 to put in it. After that, Papaw used to cruise around town all the time, just finding something to get into. I’d ride with him when I could.
He passed away in 2007 and I ended up with the truck. I would drive it to high school and right after getting my license, I started racing it in a teen drag racing street class. With Dad teaching me, I won my first ever race in the truck and later won the points championship by 1 point.
The truck has always meant a lot to me. Even though sometimes it feels like it wants to give me a hard time, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. The fact that my dad and I have got to spend time working on it together means that much more to me. Really just about everybody in the family has put in some effort in one way or another to get the truck to where it is now. It’s been painted black from its navy blue, drop spindle lowering kit installed, interior redone, and rebuilt 350.
I think Papaw would like where it is now and I just want to cruise it around town like he used to do.[lmc_story_gallery]
