1987 Chevy K3500 – Joe B.
The truck was bought in Arizona (rust-free) and transported to Florida. My first project was to make it mechanically sound, which included a new crossover steering system with all new front end components. My next step was a new cooling system, new brake system, and new exhaust system, including headers. The truck has the original 454 with only 80K miles.
I drove it around town with old tires, one of the windows off the track inside the door (which I had covered with duck tape), and original paint that was faded black but I still enjoyed driving it. I fell in love with the truck and decided it was time for a paint job. Boy, has the price of a gallon of paint gone up. I took the truck to a local paint and body shop, and to save some money, I stripped it down as in taking the bumpers, lights, bed, and doors off. I replaced the stock hook with a 2′ cowl inducted hood. The interior was all purchased from LMC, I am very pleased with their products and how it turned out. The truck came with a 6″ lift so it looked funny driving around with little tires. I purchased some Alcoa aluminum rims with 33″ Nittos. It has turned out to be a real head-turner and we receive compliments every time we take it out. Thanks LMC for having most everything I needed. My wife calls her “The Black Beauty”![lmc_story_gallery]
