Lil Mule

After seeing my brother in-law’s brand new 1980 Chevy K5 Blazer and my best friend’s 1977 K5 in 1985, I was hooked and knew at some point in my life, I needed to own one, too!

After moving from Southern California to Oregon, my wife and I decided we needed a four-wheel drive to navigate the winters and that was my chance. So, we bought our 1989 Blazer in 1992 from the original owner. Having a company work truck for most of the time early on, our Blazer didn’t get driven much. It mostly sat parked in the driveway.

Fast forward to the present. Beginning in 2000, it was time for some much needed TLC. This included a new engine (GM crate), transmission, exterior paint, complete new interior, wheels, tires, and sound system. After contemplating selling it for a few years, my wife convinced me otherwise and I plan on passing it down to my oldest daughter, and hopefully my grandson.

P.S. I know the Lil Mule was a Bronco in the movie Romancing The Stone but I couldn’t pass up on the name.[lmc_story_gallery]
