1987 Chevy C10 – Jerry K

Finally, I Got Mine!

Since I was a child I fell in love with old trucks and have fond memories surrounding them. Having been born in 1965 my first love was the 69-72 Chevys. As I grew older my father purchased a 75 Ford F150 with a 390 in it for his painting business. I loved that old truck and helping my father work from it. But then my uncle bought the first square body in the family a 76 Chevy Scottsdale campers special to pull his camper with. There was just something about that old truck that I never forgot. Not sure if it was the trips we took in it or just the memories but that’s where I found my true love.
Having worked in the autobody business for decades I have worked on everyone else’s square body for years. From putting in patch panels to fenders or just repaints. I was always proud of them when they were finished and a little jealous. I myself already had a restoration project finished in a 71 Nova SS and couldn’t justify a second. As the years flew by and my need for a truck was always there. I decided to fix up the old truck of my dreams rather than waste money on a different beater truck every two years. Thus my search began and ended with the purchase of an 87 Chevy Silverado. Having the need for a lot of various parts I turned to the help of LMC who I have ordered many parts from over the years for others. Thanks to their help I am the proud owner of the square body I have always wanted.[lmc_story_gallery]
