2000 Chevy Tahoe Z71 OBS – Daniel A.

In the summer of 1999 my mom special ordered what is now currently my Tahoe, but there was a catch. When it was delivered to the dealer, my grandma saw it on the showroom floor and bought it from under her that day. Talk about a family feud. My grandma used it to get around town and to go off road in the California and Arizona deserts. Over the last 8 or so years her health has prevented her from driving her own truck and it had been neglected a bit over the years. I have always shown interest in the truck as I rarely see a legit OBS Z71 Tahoe period.

When I graduated from high school in 2016 and had no car for college, my grandparents decided to give me the Tahoe as they know that I would take care of it like I did with my Quarter Midget and Midget racecars in the past. I received it at 15.5k miles on it and put another 20k since 3 years ago. I even passed my driving test in it my first time without any errors. My goal for the truck is keeping it as stock as possible with some improvements. Since it is a 20 year old truck now as of August, I have had issues with the Passlock module and I had to fix it myself when a local GM dealer couldn’t. Getting rid of it eventually would be nice along with changing most of my bulbs to LED and maybe get the paint corrected as the clear coat on top is pretty much gone. The brush guard and side step’s powder coating are flaking as well, but they are all easy fixes. LMC Truck has been an easy source to get all kinds of parts from weather stripping to the radio knobs that always break-off or crack. After taking care of my Tahoe the last few years, I wouldn’t own any other truck as it is easy to work on for a somewhat modern truck.[lmc_story_gallery]
