Family Memories “OLE BLUE”
This is a frame off home built in my garage truck. “OLE BLUE” has been a part of my family for over 40 years having purchased it in 1977 for the sum of $700. I am the second owner as it was purchased new at the local Chevrolet dealer in Clinton, Tennessee. It was my daily driver for over 20 years taking vacation camping trips with wife and 2 small children, many trips to Smokey Mountains and Gulf Coast.
I retired “OLE BLUE” to relatives chicken house where it remained for about 10 years. After retiring in 2010 from job at a local bank I drove “OLE BLUE” out of the chicken house coughing and sputtering and began her restoration. After over 5 years with the help of LMC Trucks many good friends and the good Lord I finally finished the project. I also endured a heart attack and open heart surgery during this time.
I’m proud to say that she never looked better. It is a bone stock original truck with a 230 CI six and 3 on the column transmission. The paint is an original GM color Fawn Beige with Indian Ivory trim. “Ole Blue” which was the original color I painted it back long ago has been and will remain a member of my family. Thanks LMC for the help as catalogs are very easy to use and great values.[lmc_story_gallery]
